The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 632

David scooped Ella into his arms without thinking. “Somebody, help! Get a doctor, now!” His voice rang out as he rushed from the room, clutching her tight.

Rachel just stood there, staring at Peter lying motionless in a pool of blood. Her hands shook. Tears streamed down her face. “Peter! Peter, why did you take that knife for Ella? I never wanted you to die. I gave you all my youth, everything I had, and you just betrayed me. Don’t blame me for this. Don’t hate me.”

Jessa’s voice broke through, shaky and desperate. “Mom, you have to get it together. Ella’s not dead. Our plan didn’t work.”

Rachel turned to look at her daughter, voice heavy with pain. “Jessa, he’s your father. He raised you, loved you, treated you like his little girl. Don’t you feel anything? Not even a little sadness?”

Jessa glanced at Peter’s body, her face ice-cold, eyes hard. “Why should I care? If he hadn’t stepped in, Ella would be dead. He ruined everything. It just shows he never really cared about me.”

Rachel’s voice was weak, barely a whisper. “Jessa, how could you…”

Before she could finish, the door burst open. Grandma Jill rushed in, people trailing behind her. She caught sight of Peter on the floor and let out a piercing scream. “Peter! Oh my God, Peter! Wake up, please, wake up! Don’t do this to me!”

She fell to her knees beside him, shaking his body, desperate for any sign of life. Nothing.

Grandma Jill’s head snapped up. Her eyes were red as she glared at Rachel. “Rachel, what happened here? What did you do? You killed my son, didn’t you?”

Rachel stumbled back, shaking her head. “No, I… I didn’t…”

Just then, Moss walked in, followed by a group of people. “What’s going on?” he demanded.
