The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 912

Lilly took a deep breath, collected herself, and nodded. “Okay.”

She followed Victoria out of the room. When they got to the dining area, Jason had already set out a whole spread—four dishes and a steaming pot of soup. Everything looked and smelled amazing, but Lilly’s eyes went straight to the sweet and sour ribs. That tangy, mouthwatering aroma was irresistible, especially these days. Ever since she got pregnant, she’d been craving anything with a sharp, tangy bite, and those ribs were exactly what she needed.

Victoria glanced over the table. “ Jason, why are all the dishes Lilly’s favorite today?”

Jason just set down the bowls and chopsticks, saying nothing.

Victoria’s face lit up as she figured it out. “Oh, I see what’s going on. You noticed Lilly hasn’t had much of an appetite and wanted something she like, so you cooked all her favorites, didn’t you?”

Lilly’s heart gave a sudden, sharp flutter. She peeked at Jason. Did he really do all this just for her?

Jason kept his cool. “I’ll get the soup. Let’s sit and eat.”

He walked back into the kitchen.

Victoria shot Lilly a sly, meaningful look. “You know, when he acts like this, my brother seems pretty great, don’t you think?”

Lilly didn’t know what to say. Great didn’t even begin to cover it.

Victoria lowered her voice almost to a whisper. “Lilly, I can tell. My brother must’ve made you mad, but look at him trying so hard. Maybe it’s time to forgive him, give him another shot.”

Lilly gave her a weak smile. The truth was, she and Jason had already broken up. She’d made it pretty clear. He definitely didn’t like her anymore. Now he was with Hanna, and he’d just added Pattie on his contacts list too. He had plenty of pretty, young girls around him.

Suddenly, Victoria’s phone started ringing.

“Lilly, I’ve got to take this.”

She hurried off to her room to answer the call.

Jason came out of the kitchen. “Where’s Victoria?”

Lilly replied, “She went to answer the phone.”

Jason nodded and brought out the soup. Lilly instinctively reached out to help. “Let me give you a hand.”
