Lilly pressed her hands to his chest, trying to put some distance between them. “Don’t do this…”
“What am I doing?” Jason barely gave her space to breathe, spinning so she was pinned against the kitchen counter. His body caged her in, close and unyielding, the air heavy with something she couldn’t quite name.
She stared up at him, completely thrown off. Hadn’t he been cold just minutes before? Now he was bold, impossible to ignore. What on earth had gotten into him?
He had a girlfriend—Hanna. Tomorrow, he was supposed to have dinner with Pattie. And now, here in this kitchen, he was kissing her like nothing else mattered.
Lilly felt her face flush with heat. “Mr. Farill, please, let me go. Victoria will come out soon. She might see...”
Jason studied her face, his eyes darker than usual, his voice a low growl. “You don’t like me kissing you?”
The question caught her off guard. Her heart stuttered. He’d never asked something like that before. What was going on with him?
He reached for her hand, guiding it to his cheek. His eyes held hers, searching. “Do you like this face?” he asked quietly.
Her mind was spinning. Was he actually asking if she liked how he looked now?
“I…”
He pressed a little closer. “You don’t think I look good?”
“I…”
He gently cupped her face in his hands, making her meet his gaze. “Tell me.”
“Tell you what?”
“Tell me if I’m handsome or not.”
Did he really need her to say it? Any woman with eyes could see how handsome he was. All the girls trailing after him made that obvious enough.
Lilly nodded, honest and a little embarrassed. “You are.”
