Chapter 430 A Total Mess
In the heat of the moment, Nola got all fired up, rolled up her sleeves and charged forward. "What's the point of yelling at us? We heard every word clearly back then. How were we supposed to know that girl was tricking us?"
Jasper stepped in, trying to calm things down. "Megan, Nola's got a point. Hugh and his fiancée must've cooked up this whole scheme. They had all the evidence ready, set up that false story, and lured you back just to get even with our family."
Rachel spoke up, pointing at Megan, "Jasper and Nola are looking out for you. You just couldn't land Hugh before. Now it's all gone to hell. If it weren't for Maria, we'd all be in the slammer."
Shooting Megan a venomous look, Nola snapped, "You're a hopeless case. Take that brat and scram!"
Caught between the crossfire, Rachel held her tongue, not daring to say a word as Nola was on the warpath.
Jasper attempted to intervene, but Nola shoved him aside without a second thought.
Megan's eyes were red and she was about to cry—she looked really miserable. "Nola, I did this for our family. I just got out, and I'm totally broke. Where am I supposed to go with my kid?"
Nola waved her off with a flick of her hand. "Go anywhere you like. This house isn't big enough for all of you."
Megan stood her ground in the living room, her voice firm. "Nola, I paid for this house. I've got every right to stay."
At her words, Nola went full-blown crazy, shouting, "Prove it! Can this house say you're the owner?"
Then, turning on Rachel, she barked, "You old bat, look at the bitch you've raised. Get out, both of you!"
Jasper tried to reason with her, saying, "Nola, what the heck are you doing? Mom helps us with the kids. Why are you kicking her out, too?"
Nola threatened her husband, "You're useless. If you let your mom and Megan stay, we're done."
With that, Nola stormed into the room and started throwing out Rachel and Megan's things.
"Get lost! All of you, outta here!"
She kicked the suitcases and pushed Rachel and Megan toward the door.
Rachel was sobbing, pleading with her son to do something.
Megan and Nola got into a tussle, neither one willing to give an inch.
Meanwhile, Megan's son was crying his eyes out in terror.
Suddenly, the doorbell pierced through the tense atmosphere in the living room.
