Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 455

Chapter 455 Goodbye Hug

It was past eight in the evening.

As Gwen pulled up to the apartment complex and dropped Bethan off downstairs, there stood Tristen.

Bethan hopped out of the car in a hurry.

Noticing Gwen still sitting there, hands clasped around the steering wheel, fixated on Tristen and showing no sign of leaving, Bethan gave her a nudge. "Knock it off and get going," she said.

Left with no option, Gwen drove away.

Spotting Tristen, Bethan greeted him, though her eyes darted towards the elevator. "What are you doing here again?"

Tristen strolled up to her. "My brother's wife just got back from Canada. She brought a bunch of local treats. Thought I'd swing by and drop some off for your parents."

Bethan caught a faint, refreshing, and alluring scent of men's cologne on Tristen.

In her memory, he'd never been one to wear perfume.

Could it be that after she'd complimented the fragrance on Mason the other night, Tristen had started using it?

Eyeing Tristen warily, Bethan asked, "You didn't take the stuff upstairs, did you?"

Tristen shook his head. "Wouldn't dream of it without your say-so."

The words, which were meant to be respectful, took on a touch of flirtation in Tristen's mouth, and the atmosphere grew a bit awkward.

Trying to change the subject quickly, Bethan said, "You're catching an early-morning flight to see your grandma overseas. I made some special calming incense for her. I'll go upstairs and get it for you."

Tristen handed over the treats, and she went upstairs.

Moments later, Bethan returned with a tote bag. "It's late. Drive safe on your way back," she said.

Tristen took the bag and moved in closer. "Dr. Olsen, how about a goodbye hug?"

Their eyes met for a moment before Bethan turned her head away. "If you don't leave right now, I'll have my dad break your limb!"

Undeterred, Tristen leaned even closer and murmured in her ear, "Just keep 'the one thing' that can make you happy, okay?"

Bethan cursed under her breath, pushed him away, and covered her ears as she rushed into the elevator.

Tristen stood there, smiling as he watched Bethan glaring daggers at him from inside the elevator.

The moment the elevator doors slid shut, Bethan took a deep breath and thumped her chest.

This seemingly proper guy with his cheeky remarks was really giving her a scare.

She couldn't bear to think about how she'd interact with Tristen at the hospital after the holidays.

After her experience with Hugh, Bethan had been determined to focus on her career.

But she actually ended up sleeping with Tristen by accident.

Now he was dropping by her place so often. Sooner or later, her parents were bound to find out.

Over an hour later at Blue Bay Community, Gwen used her fingerprint to unlock Mason's apartment.

Hugh was already there.

Gwen tossed her bag aside and exclaimed excitedly, "You won't believe who I saw when I dropped Bethan off!"

Mason gave Hugh a noncommittal glance. "Tristen, right?"

Gwen was taken aback. "How did you know?"

Both she and Mason looked at Hugh.
