Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 135

Two young, beautiful women suddenly erupted into a fight, shattering the tranquil atmosphere of the café.

Everyone turned to stare at the table by the window.

Nannie had a death grip on Silvia’s hair, yanking her closer, muttering through clenched teeth, “He’s mine, he’s mine…”

The pain at Silvia’s scalp was excruciating, sharp enough to make her breath hitch. She wasn’t incapable of fighting back, but Nannie’s attack had come out of nowhere, catching her off guard. Now, with her head forced down, she could barely lift her face.

Lunatic.

That was the only word that flashed through Silvia’s mind.

She still couldn’t grasp what had made Nannie snap like this, her mood swings spiraling out of control. How on earth had Kent put up with it for so long?

Silvia drew in a shaky breath, trying to call for help.

Before she could make a sound, the pressure on her scalp suddenly disappeared. Nannie let go of her hair. A man’s voice, low and edged with danger, cut through the tension: “Nannie, did you already forget what I told you?”

Kent’s reprimand was sharp. He reached out, his large hand steadying Silvia’s shoulder, holding her gently as he looked her over with concern.

Silvia glanced up and met Kent’s worried gaze.

He was so close she could see her own reflection in his eyes—hair a tangled mess, face pale, features drawn and tired.

She must look awful right now.

Was it Kent’s fate to always witness her at her lowest?

But this time, it was because of him.

Silvia tried to reason with herself, but she couldn’t swallow her frustration. Today, it was just her hair being yanked; what about next time?
