Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 134

As soon as she stepped inside, Silvia spotted Nannie sitting by the window.

Her face was composed, almost chilly. Silvia walked over without hesitation and took the seat across from her.

Nannie wore a simple white dress, her jet-black hair cascading down in front of her chest. She looked almost ethereal, like a delicate white blossom—pure and untouched.

She tilted her head, causing her bangs to fall slightly to one side.

Nannie let out a soft laugh. “Last night, Kent just stayed over at my place—nothing happened between us. I suppose that doesn’t bother you, does it, Miss Spencer?”

Silvia’s brows knitted slightly.

Nannie had already sent her a message saying this last night. And now she was repeating it face to face? It didn’t take a genius to guess what she was really after.

But Silvia, after everything she’d been through with Shipley, wasn’t about to lose her cool over a few pointed words.

If anything, seeing right through Nannie’s little game only made Silvia more composed.

She studied Nannie with steady eyes, raising a brow, her voice calm and unhurried. “It doesn’t bother me. After all, the only one who fell apart when Kent and I got engaged was you.”

Her tone was almost lazy as she took a sip of her coffee, tossing the words out as if Nannie barely registered on her radar.

For Nannie, it felt as if she’d thrown a punch with all her might, only for Silvia to not even flinch. Instead, it left Nannie feeling like she’d lost ground.

Nannie tightened her grip around her cup and inhaled slowly, forcing a smile. “Fine, I admit it. I wasn’t thrilled when I heard about your engagement party. But I got over it quickly, because I know Kent will divorce you eventually.”

Silvia cradled her coffee in both hands and didn’t bother to answer.

Her silence, though, only made Nannie’s smile grow more confident, almost radiant. She lifted her chin. “Miss Spencer, you don’t need to overthink this. It doesn’t matter who Kent marries—except for me, no one will last with him.”

She sounded so sure, as if it was already written in stone.
