Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 133

Nimbus Coffee. Again.

She and this place really were entangled by fate.

Every visit brought a new “surprise.”

And now, Nannie herself had invited her over.

Silvia stared at the text for a long time, her brows knitting together.

It was ten at night, just as she was about to head to bed, when Kent called. His voice on the other end was low and heavy, a hint of tension threading through his words.

“Silvia, I’m sorry. I’ve been swamped today and missed your messages.” Kent’s first words were an apology.

He genuinely felt guilty.

It was the first time Silvia had cooked for him, and he hadn’t come home—or even managed to send a text.

She couldn’t have been happy about that.

Silvia forced a small smile, her eyes shadowed with something unspoken. She tried to sound light. “It’s fine. I know you’re busy.”

She didn’t ask what Kent had been doing, and he didn’t offer an explanation.

“When will you…” be back?

“I’m not coming home tonight. There are still things I need to deal with.”

His reply cut off her question.

After a moment, Silvia murmured a soft “Alright,” and turned off her phone.

She tossed it aside. When Kent called again, Silvia didn’t answer.

Alone in her room, she hugged her knees to her chest, curling her small frame tighter and tighter.

If he wasn’t coming home, then so be it.

But why did she feel so unsettled?

Silvia knew perfectly well—she didn’t like Kent.
