The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1505

Imperial Heights.

Charlotte lounged on the sofa, snacking on Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and lazily watching Anthony organize her school bag.

“These books are so heavy. Just leave them,” she drawled, giving Anthony a slightly smug tilt of her chin. “No use bringing them.”

“No use?” Anthony set her stuff down, stood up, and took a seat right next to her. “You’re really going to school without any books?” He brushed a stray lock of her hair behind her ear, fingers grazing her nose in a familiar, gentle gesture. “Lottie, how are you supposed to pay attention in class?”

She glanced at him, blinking once, totally nonchalant. “I was bored during gym, so I flipped through them.” She popped another Cheeto in her mouth. “It all kinda stuck.”

Anthony didn’t look surprised at all. Instead, he grabbed a napkin and wiped the corner of her mouth, a soft laugh in his voice. “You probably shouldn’t say things like that in front of your classmates.”

She looked up, pretending not to care. “Hm?”

“You’ll make them all jealous.”

He kissed her cheek, then caught her about to eat another Cheeto and frowned a little. “Why have you been craving spicy stuff so much lately?” Even her meals had been on the spicy side these days.

As he spoke, his gaze dropped to her belly. Technically, those old stories people told weren’t exactly scientific, but sometimes he wondered—was it really all boys in there?

Charlotte caught his look and poked his chest, her eyes glinting mischievously. “Don’t stare. If you’re good, maybe I’ll give you a daughter next time.”

Anthony looked at her, his smile fading into something serious. He stroked her hair, his voice gentle but firm. “We agreed, just this one time. I can’t ask you to go through that again.”

She grinned, leaning into him. “Whatever you say. No more, then.” Not like it mattered—she already had a daughter on the way.

Just then, the phone rang on the coffee table.
