The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1511

Night was settling in. Four or five black sedans shielded a sleek sports car as they tore down the empty highway. On either side, the thick fir trees bent and trembled in the swirling wind left in their wake.

Inside the car, the tension was suffocating. Hans kept both hands on the steering wheel, his palms glistening with cold sweat. He kept glancing at the others, searching for any sign of reassurance, but there was none.

Kenneth sat in the passenger seat, gripping Emily's phone, his expression as stormy as the night outside. In the back, Charlotte and Anthony sat together, their faces carved with the same worry and fear.

It had been over an hour since Emily disappeared, and every minute that passed made the danger feel more real. Their people in Rivonia were searching, yes, but they had to keep things quiet, not risk scaring off whoever had taken her.

The longer this dragged on, the worse it got. If anything really happened to Emily, Anthony and Charlotte looked ready to tear all of Cabinda apart to find her.

Out of nowhere, an abrupt ringtone shattered the heavy silence. Kenneth’s eyes flickered, a fragile hope surfacing as he glanced at the screen. For a moment, he wished it was Adela calling to demand ransom. He’d pay whatever it took… anything, just to get Emily back.

But it was only a notification from the memo app. The glimmer of hope in his eyes vanished in an instant. This was Emily’s private phone. Besides family and a few close friends, nobody else even had the number. If Adela wanted money, she would have reached out to them by now.

The notification popped up again. This time, Kenneth read the title.

[Super Important Thing, Baby]

That word—baby—hit him like a punch to the chest. The memo had been created a month ago. If he remembered right, Emily and that mysterious boyfriend had split up about two weeks back. That probably meant the “baby” in the note was him.

How much did she care, to make a note about him a whole month in advance? The thought weighed down on Kenneth, pressing against his heart and stealing the air from his lungs.

Right now, he needed to know. What kind of man was it that could win her heart like that?
