The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 604

Lilly woke up to the feeling of Jace moving next to her. She blinked, still half-asleep, her mind drifting back to the night before. They’d been everywhere, from the bed to the bathroom to the couch, pushing each other past exhaustion. Now, every little movement made her body ache in the sweetest, most unbearable way, as if her bones might melt right out of her skin.

“Jace, are you leaving?” Her voice was soft, half-buried in his chest, where she’d fallen asleep. Even though he tried to slip away as quietly as possible, she woke the moment he moved.

Jace looked down at her, his eyes gentle. “Yeah. I need to go.”

“What time is it?”

“It’s four in the morning. Go back to sleep.”

Lilly wrapped her arms around him, snuggling in like a sleepy kitten. “Four is so early. Stay, just a little longer. Please?”

He needed to get back to the hotel. If Lilian woke up and found him gone, things would get complicated. He had his own plans, things to take care of. But with Lilly clinging to him, her voice all soft and sweet, he felt himself give in a little.

Jace lay back down and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Alright. I’ll stay for a bit. Get some sleep.”

Lilly smiled and kissed his cheek, then drifted off almost instantly, too tired to fight her heavy eyelids.

Jace couldn’t sleep. He just held her, his arms wrapped around her like he never wanted to let go. The memories of last night lingered, making his heart race and his skin tingle. He could still feel every desperate touch, every breathless moment.

He knew last night had been reckless, but now there was no going back. He had slept with her. This beautiful, gentle girl was his now, no longer untouched and distant.

Jace watched her sleep, tracing the lines of her face with his eyes. He kissed her softly, again and again, from her cheeks to her lips, then pressed his face into her hair and breathed her in. He had kept his feelings locked down for so long, but now that he’d let go, he realized he wanted her, really wanted her, in a way that felt endless.

He pulled her close, maybe too close. She was so delicate. A tiny frown tugged at her brow, and she let out a sleepy little whimper. “That hurts…”
