The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 584

Lilly just stood there, locking eyes with Jace from across the room.

Jace went completely still.

Lilian followed his gaze, noticing Lilly. “Jace, who’s that?”

He didn’t say a word.

Lilly turned on her heel and started walking away.

She needed to get out. She hated this place. Every breath felt heavy, like she was trapped underwater.

She picked up her pace, not watching where she was going, and suddenly crashed into a middle-aged man.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to,” Lilly blurted out.

The man scowled. “Sorry? That’s all you’ve got? Damn it, I already lost a ton of money tonight, and now you have to bump into me...”

He caught sight of her face and stopped, eyes roaming over her with a greedy interest.

“Well, aren’t you a cute little thing.”

Lilly was still in her school clothes, a white sweater and pleated skirt, her white puffer jacket zipped up tight. Her long, black hair was pulled into a high ponytail. She looked so fresh and out of place, she might as well have been glowing.

The way the man stared made Lilly’s skin crawl. She frowned. “I already apologized.”

She tried to step around him.

He moved to block her. “Where are you going, sweetheart? Why don’t you come have some fun with me?”

“Move,” Lilly said, voice steady. “Don’t get in my way. I’m going home.”

He let out a harsh laugh. “Going home? Whose home? Mine? I could give you one, you know.”

Lilly felt sick.

She turned, desperate to put some distance between them.
