Chapter 470 Wouldn’t Learn Without Consequences

She threw herself at Benjamin, sobbing.

She wasn’t scared of the man in the house anymore. But being mistaken for someone else and taken away by force had shaken her badly.

She was also scared of ending up like the man’s own baby-lost and never found.

His baby still hadn’t come home. Nina didn’t want that. She didn’t want to be unable to go home.

“Got it,” he said simply, then picked her up and carried her away.

After Benjamin took Nina away, she saw Amelia.

The man who took Nina had run the amusement park, but he’d had another job too-he was a doctor.

He’d used a special gas to briefly knock Amelia out. Amelia was awake now,

The moment Amelia saw a safe Nina, tears sprang to her eyes. Then, she pulled Nina over her knee, lifted her hand, and spanked her bottom.

“Nina, are you going to listen from now on?” Amelia demanded, her voice trembling. “No more running off? When I call you, do you stop running?”

While Amelia and Nina were talking, Benjamin watched silently. He had been terrified too.

Being abroad wasn’t like Averton. Gun laws were different here, some organizations operated in the shadows, and the crime rate was higher.

He was genuinely afraid that if they hadn’t acted fast enough, they might not have gotten Nina back.

The three of them sat in the car. Once Nina’s sobs subsided and Amelia’s emotions settled, Benjamin took a tissue and gently wiped both their faces.

After cleaning them up, he took Nina from Amelia’s arms.

Nina didn’t really want to go; she wanted Amelia to keep holding her.

But Benjamin insisted, and she didn’t fight him.

“Daddy.”

A subdued Nina sat quietly on Benjamin’s lap, looking drained.
