Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 471

Chapter 471 Make It to Your Big Day

Benjamin had just come from the hospital. Lester also knew what had happened with Nina. Taking Nina to see him would put his mind at ease.

Amelia agreed to take Nina to the hospital.

But on the way, Amelia said to Benjamin. “Benjamin, want to bet? The first thing Nina will do at the hospital is tell Lester all about it.”

Benjamin was silent for a moment. He believed it.

Soon, the family of three arrived at the hospital.

Nina had fallen asleep in the car. Benjamin took off his jacket to cover her. When they got out, he carried her, still wrapped in his coat, in his arms.

Benjamin and Amelia planned to let Lester see Nina, then take her home.

But in the hospital room, after Lester saw Nina, he stopped them.

‘Let her sleep here. The bed is big enough. We can talk after she wakes up,” Lester suggested.

Carrying a sleeping child back and forth between the car and different places might startle her and ruin

her rest.

Lester’s bed was spacious. He let Nina lie down, tucked her in with the blanket, and let her go back to sleep.

Nina kept sleeping, and the adults spoke in hushed tones. After a while, Benjamin guided Amelia to the sofa. “Lie down and rest for a bit. You’ve had a long day,” he said. “I’ll wake you when Nina’s up. We’ll all go out for lunch later.”

Amelia and Lester weren’t that familiar yet and didn’t have a lot to talk about. Benjamin didn’t want her to feel awkward.

After settling her comfortably, he leaned down and kissed her forehead.

Their affectionate moment didn’t escape Lester’s notice. He raised an eyebrow, finding it rather novel.

Benjamin had always been a serious child who needed to be coddled, expecting the world to revolve around him.

Who would’ve thought he’d grow up to be the one doing the coddling?

A moment later, Benjamin returned to the bedside. Lester was watching him with a knowing look.

Benjamin frowned. “What’s that look for?”

Lester smiled teasingly. “Just surprised. You actually know how to comfort a little girl.”

Benjamin frowned, emphasizing, “She’s my legal wife. We’re married.”

“Had the wedding yet?” Lester asked.

Benjamin paused. “Soon.”

Finished

Benjamin and Amelia had gotten their marriage certificate, but they hadn’t had the formal wedding yet.

They were both busy with work and raising a child. But they were planning the wedding.

Benjamin might seem aloof, but he valued rituals.

He often gave Amelia gifts. He was gradually changing all his passwords to her birthday. Naturally, he wouldn’t be careless about their wedding.

Hearing the wedding wasn’t done, Lester smiled. “Good. I can still make it to your big day.”

They chatted idly. Nearly two hours later, Benjamin and Lester were still talking. Neither noticed the faint flutter of Nina’s eyelashes and eyelids.

Her little stirrings went undetected by the adults.

So, when Benjamin poured himself a glass of water and was about to take a sip, he heard a soft, little voice.

“Ben! Nina drink.”

Benjamin froze.

He set the water glass down and looked toward the bed.

Nina, who was supposed to be lying down, had somehow sat up.

She didn’t look sleepy at all. In fact, she looked like she’d been awake for a while.

Nina loved listening to adults talk. Sometimes she could eavesdrop for ages!

This time was no exception. She’d heard Lester call Benjamin “Ben,” and she decided to copy him.

Hearing his daughter call him “Ben,” Benjamin’s handsome face stiffened. He almost crushed the water glass in his hand.

Lester, watching from the side, saw Benjamin’s dark expression and knew he wasn’t happy.

Just as Lester thought Benjamin might tell Nina off, he saw Benjamin take a subtle, deep breath. Then, Benjamin shot him a displeased glare.

Lester’s eye twitched. He understood that look. Benjamin was blaming him.

Before Lester could say anything, Benjamin had already set the glass aside. He reached over, scooped Nina from the bed, and settled her in his lap.
