“Lester is a great brother!”

Daniel had completely surrendered in the face of money.

Erik, green with envy after his failed attempt to stir trouble, simply went over and put Daniel in a headlock.

The two started roughhousing, shoving and hitting each other. Nina, still in Daniel’s arms, grew excited at the sight.

Giggling, she gave Daniel a smack, then turned and gave Erik, who had leaned in, a smack too.

Two consecutive smacks from Nina made both guys instantly behave.

“Nina, no hitting. I won’t fight either,” Daniel said, taking Nina’s little hand that had just hit him and giving it a kiss. “We’re not hitting people, okay?”

Seeing Daniel telling her not to hit, Nina laughed and tried to hit again.

Erik, seeing this, quickly pulled Daniel away to change the scene.

“Don’t just stand here. If Benjamin sees Nina learning to hit from us, he’ll freeze our cards again.”

Erik’s card had only just been unfrozen; he didn’t want that to happen again.

The two of them quickly carried Nina away from the hospital entrance.

It was well past lunchtime. Daniel found a well-known restaurant and took Nina there to eat.

While Nina went to eat with Daniel, Amelia, back in the hospital room, woke up.

Not seeing Nina, she panicked a little. “Where’s Nina again?”

“Daniel took her to eat,” Benjamin said soothingly, giving her hand a squeeze to calm her.

Without Nina in the room, it was much quieter.

Benjamin called the restaurant, and they decided to have their meal in the hospital room.

During the meal, Amelia couldn’t hold back any longer. “Benjamin, when are we going back to Averton?” she asked.

Benjamin’s main reason for this trip abroad was to handle business matters. And those business troubles were all because of Lester.

Now that the two archenemies were biological brothers, the business conflicts naturally vanished.

With no more fighting, Amelia wanted to go back to Averton as soon as possible. It felt too chaotic here.

“Okay,” Amelia said. “Nina and I can go back first.”

Amelia knew Lester was still in the hospital, and Benjamin wouldn’t be comfortable leaving.

So she didn’t ask him to come back. She suggested he stay a few more days. She, Nina, William, and Daniel could go back first.

For once, Benjamin hesitated at Amelia’s suggestion.

Before he could overthink it, Amelia smiled, “Once we’re back, Nina will start daycare again. We won’t need so many people looking after her.”

Nina had been out of daycare for a while. Without the routine and rules there, she was getting harder to manage. Amelia was eager to send her back soon.

Hearing that Nina would be in daycare, Benjamin felt a little better.

He pressed his lips together, paused for a few seconds, and said, “I’ll come back as soon as I can.”

Amelia’s eyes curved into a smile. “There’s no rush,” she said gently.

As Amelia and Benjamin discussed their return, Lester watched them. The more he looked, the more suited they seemed.

Amelia’s good nature was obvious. And Benjamin had had a bad temper since childhood. The two actually complemented each other quite well.

“Ben, you should go back. You don’t need to stay here with me,” Lester said, trying to persuade Benjamin to go home with Amelia.

But Benjamin shot him a sidelong glance. “I still have things to do here,” he said coolly.

He didn’t say it was to keep Lester company. He just said he had things to do.

Lester was speechless.

Alright, alright. Ben’s mouth is still as hard as ever.

While the adults in the hospital room ate peacefully, Nina, at the restaurant, sat in a high chair being fed by Daniel.

Nina wanted to watch cartoons.
