Chapter 475 Nina’s Voice
It was a substantial fortune.
But Benjamin still refused to hand over Nina.
“Aunt Catherine, Nina is my child. I won’t give up custody of her,” Benjamin stated, his brow furrowed and his patience wearing thin.
“If you miss her, you are welcome to visit her often. Once we return home, you can still video call anytime.”
Seeing Benjamin and Catherine reach this point, Amelia felt at a loss.
She could only gently shake Benjamin’s arm, silently urging him to calm down. Catherine was, after all, the elder. They could still try to communicate more reasonably.
Edward, who had just returned from walking the dog, saw the tension and intervened. “I’ve just made an excellent pot of coffee, Catherine. Would you like to try a cup?” he offered, giving her a reason to step away.
Meanwhile, Amelia guided Benjamin back to their room.
The adults all went to cool off. Nina remained in Daniel’s arms, unable to escape.
Daniel tickled her, and she giggled uncontrollably, almost breathless with laughter.
He played with her for a while, but didn’t let her laugh too long. He knew letting a child laugh excessively could be risky. Daniel’s childcare skills were really good now!
“Here, sweetie, have some water,” Daniel said, opening her sippy cup and letting her take a couple of sips.
After drinking, Nina let out another little laugh. Daniel smiled, watching her.
Seeing him smile, Nina grinned too.
After a couple of giggles, she asked, “Un-coo Dan’el, where truck?
Daniel replied, gently stroking her cheek, “It’ll be here tomorrow. It’s too late now; the stores are closed. I’ll go buy it for you tomorrow morning.”
Daniel and Nina played in the living room for a while. When Nina saw that Catherine was upset, she even took a toy over to play with her.
When bedtime came, Nina ended up sleeping in Catherine’s room.
The night was gentle and still. Catherine, still awake, looked at the little girl sleeping beside her, bottom in the air, and felt a growing reluctance.
Nina really did resemble Sienna.
But besides that resemblance, Catherine genuinely adored Nina herself.

Chapter 475 Nina’s Voice
Finished
Nina might not seem very well-behaved, but she was surprisingly considerate. She was very good at sensing adults’ emotions. She even knew how to cheer them up.
Catherine had been in a low mood that evening, and Nina had spent the whole time trying to make her feel better. When it was time to sleep, Nina had called for Amelia; she missed her mom at night.
But when Catherine lowered her eyes and put on a sad expression, Nina held back from calling for Amelia again.
Instead, she went over, hugged Catherine, and told her she loved her. Even a heart of ice would melt for such a sweet, thoughtful little girl.
While Nina slept beside Catherine, Benjamin, in his bedroom, was in a foul mood.
Without Nina’s constant interruptions, he and Amelia finally had some alone time. Normally, he should be happy, but right now, his face was a mask of displeasure.
Amelia kept trying to soothe him.
‘Benjamin, I don’t think Catherine will actually try to keep Nina,” she said gently. “She’s just feeling reluctant right now. Once she thinks it through, she won’t make things difficult for us. Don’t be unhappy, okay?”
Amelia tried her best to coax Benjamin, even using a softer pet name for him. She leaned close to his ear and whispered gently, “Honey.”
The word “Honey” finally got a reaction from him. Their intimate night began, and the usually early-to- >ed Benjamin stayed up for the kind of night he preferred.
When they were finished, Amelia was exhausted, drifting into a deep sleep.
Benjamin kissed her smooth shoulder. As he was about to fall asleep, he remembered his phone had lit up a few times earlier.
He reached for it on the nightstand. Sure enough, there were new messages-from Lester.
Lester had heard from Daniel that Benjamin was in a bad mood and knew the reason. He’d sent a few messages to reassure him.
‘Don’t worry about Nina.”
“I’ll take care of it.”
“Go to sleep on time.”
“Goodnight.”
