Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 469

Chapter 469 The Owner of the Abandoned Amusement Park

His mind didn’t seem right.

He insisted he was Nina’s dad.

Nina was so scared she wanted to cry, but whenever she started, the man would cover her mouth.

Being silenced like that made her stop sobbing. She wasn’t crying anymore, but her little body trembled with fear, and her voice shook.

“Nina down,” she pleaded. “No hold. Waaah! Mommy.”

Nina was calling for her mom. Even though it wasn’t in the local language, the man understood.

The moment he heard “Mommy,” his expression softened instantly.

“Sweetheart, we’re going to find Mommy right now,” he cooed. “Mommy is waiting for us at home.”

The man carried Nina, walking without stopping. He finally stopped in front of a small house.

This was his home, though he rarely came back. He spent most of his time in that basement.

The doorknob was dusty, but he grabbed it without hesitation and opened the door.

Once inside, he set Nina down.

“Sweetheart, we’re home,” he said, no longer holding her. He went straight to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and started looking for food for Nina.”

Nina was still terrified at first. But she soon realized the man didn’t mean to hurt her. He genuinely thought she was his daughter.

The food he pulled out was all expired. He brought it over and piled it in front of her.

“Sweetheart, eat,” he urged, his gaze gentle. “Mommy just made this for you. You’ll like it, right?”

Only the man and Nina were in the little house, but he was imagining a woman living there with them. His mental state was clearly very troubled.

Nina wanted to go home, wanted to find Amelia. But she was too scared to run.

She sat on the sofa, not touching the food, and used the translation device she still had. Without it, she couldn’t understand the man.

With it, she finally managed to have a conversation with him.

Nina learned the man thought she was his baby. Through their scattered chat, Nina pieced together the story of the man’s daughter and his wife.

The man had been the owner of the abandoned amusement park. He built it so his daughter could play

there.

Finished

But not long after it opened, his daughter disappeared. After she went missing, his wife spent all her time searching for their daughter.

The man didn’t say clearly where his wife was now. His mind drifted in and out. He would speak, then point to the kitchen and say his wife was cooking there.

After understanding what had happened, Nina lifted a chubby hand and rubbed her eyes.

“Nina no good,” she whimpered, her little voice choked up.

Seeing with her own eyes how another child’s disappearance had broken a dad, she thought of her own • mom and dad.

Now she was gone too, and she wondered if her mom and dad would end up like that. She missed Amelia and Benjamin more and more.

Nina sat alone in the little house, missing her parents. Back at the hospital, Benjamin shot to his feet the second he heard she’d gone missing at the amusement park.

“I’m checking her location now,” he said.

He forced down his emotions and pulled up the tracking on Nina’s watch, which had the most precise

GPS.

Thankfully, it was still transmitting.

Benjamin sent the coordinates to the bodyguards, ordering them to the location. He was going too.

Lester, beside him, heard about Nina and sat up..

“I’m coming with you,” he said, trying to get out of bed.

But Benjamin stopped him. “Stay here. I’ll handle it,” Benjamin ordered, striding out of the hospital room.

Lester watched him go, frowning. He immediately sent some of his men to follow Benjamin, worried about the danger they might be walking into.

With the tracking signal, finding Nina was straightforward.

Benjamin arrived almost as fast as the bodyguards. For safety, he didn’t break the door down. He calmly knocked instead.

Hearing the knock, Nina, who was sitting on the sofa cating a cracker, looked over at the door.

“Door knock!” she announced. “Nina open!”

The man didn’t let her go alone. He stood up and followed her.

Nina, one hand holding the cracker packet, used the other to reach for the doorknob.

It was a little high. She went up on her tiptoes, grabbed it, and with a little “oof,” pulled the door open.
