A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 199

"Demi's in your class?"

The entire Pitt family stared at Ana in disbelief. But it wasn't just that—they were all puzzled for different reasons.

Robert, for instance, couldn't wrap his head around it. How could Demi, a former housekeeper, get into Moran Academy? And then there was the bigger mystery. After years out of school, how had she not only returned but also managed to enroll at the finest school in Lynora City?

Clearly, someone had to have pulled some strings.

"Then, why didn't you mention it when you got home?" Stephen frowned.

"I wanted to, but… I just couldn't figure out how to explain it," Ana mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper.

"What's so hard about saying 'Demi's in my class?'" Thomas grumbled, his tone laced with irritation. He was clearly upset. He believed that because of Ana's involvement, the Pitt family was now at odds with Demi.

Ana lowered her head, looking wronged and pitiful, but she said nothing.

"Enough. Don't blame Annie," Michelle quickly stepped in to defend Ana. "She was probably just surprised and needed time to process it."

The room fell silent.

Robert glanced around, feeling like something was off.

"So what if Demi's going back to school?" Robert asked as he casually took another bite of food.

"Why are you all acting like it's a big deal? Sure, she used to be our housekeeper, but from what I hear, she's a big celebrity now. Getting into Moran Academy isn't surprising."

Unlike the rest of the Pitts, Robert wasn't the least bit concerned with gossip or entertainment. His free time was spent either gaming, racing on motorcycles, or playing basketball, soccer, or pool. He had only found out about Demi's fame because someone in class had mentioned it in passing.

And when he confirmed that it was the same Demi that used to work as a housekeeper for the Pitt family, he'd thought it was kind of interesting but nothing shocking.

"Enough of that nonsense. It's fine if you don't know, but don't blab!" Alex snapped, irritation clear in his tone.
