Melissa picked up her phone and was surprised to see it was already 1:30 pm. It was no wonder she felt so well-rested.
Just then, her stomach rumbled loudly. She quickly got out of bed, freshened up, and headed downstairs.
"You're awake?" Dalton, who was sitting on the living room couch and handling some paperwork, looked up at her.
"Why aren't you at work?" Melissa asked, surprised.
"I wanted to see what time you'd wake up," Dalton said, his concern evident as he looked at her. "How was your sleep? Was it good?"
"I had a good sleep. It was the deepest sleep I've had in years! There was not even a single dream. Honey, it seems like Dr. Moone really is amazing!" Melissa exclaimed. "She's truly my lifesaver!"
Melissa had suffered from insomnia for five years. Her sleeplessness not only led to depression, but it also caused doctors to warn her that continued sleep deprivation could shorten her lifespan.
"I knew it. A doctor brought in by Felix should be competent." Dalton nodded in agreement.
"So, do you think we paid her enough yesterday? She not only helped us get rid of those harmful things, but she also did acupuncture, and she's also making me some pills. Most importantly, she cured my illness." Melissa sat down across from Dalton.
Yesterday, they had given Demi a bank card with only ten thousand dollars loaded onto it.
They thought they would pay her this amount upfront and add more once she had treated Melissa's illness.
"Alright. Next time, when we pick up the pills, we'll give her another bank card," Dalton said.
Just then, Olivia entered the living room.
"Mom, you're awake? You've been asleep until now?" Olivia asked in surprise, noticing how much better Melissa looked.
"Yes, I was just telling your dad. Dr. Moone really is something. Next time you see her, be sure to apologize," Melissa said, frowning as she reminded Olivia.
"I didn't say anything bad, did I? The whole 'fraud' thing was just something I told you guys," Olivia said reluctantly.
