"But didn't we already consult Mr. Walter? He didn't find any of those things either," Olivia spoke up.
Olivia's doubts were growing, and she was increasingly suspicious that Demi had actually brought those objects.
Demi could see right through her thoughts.
Without saying anything, Demi closed her book and then proceeded to remove the needles from Melissa.
If she were a fraud, they would know tonight—based on Melissa's sleep and how she felt in the days to come.
Once the needles were removed, Demi gathered her things and prepared to leave.
When he saw this, Felix immediately stood up and said his farewell to the Hort family.
"Ms. Moone, this is just a small token of our appreciation," Dalton said as he handed Demi an envelope.
The envelope was thin, clearly containing a bank card.
Demi nodded, graciously accepted it, and began walking out. The entire Hort family hurried to follow her to see her off.
Once they got in the car, Felix immediately apologized. He said, "I'm sorry. I didn't expect Olivia to disrespect you."
"It's alright. With my age, it's normal for people to have doubts about me." Demi smiled and then took out the Indorian book from her bag.
Seeing she was about to study, Felix didn't say anything more.
…
Olivia spoke impatiently as soon as she re-entered the Hort residence. "Dad, Mom, I really think Demi is just a quack! Those things—maybe she's the one who put them there when we weren't looking! Too bad there aren't cameras in the bedroom. If we had the footage, we'd know for sure."
"Stop talking nonsense! Felix brought her here!" Matthew furrowed his brows.
"Maybe Felix was fooled by her?" Olivia retorted, unwilling to back down.
"Fooled? Didn't you see his leg has healed?" Matthew snapped.
"Is this Ms. Moone really the miracle healer who cured Felix's leg? She's so young!" Dalton asked curiously.
"I'm not sure. When I asked him for help, I just mentioned wanting to meet the miracle healer who treated his leg, and then he brought the young Dr. Moone," Matthew replied, furrowing his brows, clearly uncertain.
