Demi couldn't hold in her laughter at that point, and two deep dimples appeared on her cheeks. "I understand, Mr. West Senior. I only said that because I'm confident."
"Even if you're confident, you shouldn't say things like that. Given my age, even without any heart issues, I could pass away from a simple fall or in my sleep. Life is unpredictable—that's what I'm trying to say," Benedict explained seriously.
Demi nodded. "I got it."
"Demi, you're still young. Give it a few more years as a doctor, and you won't be speaking so lightly any more," Seamus said with a chuckle.
"Sure." Demi smiled and nodded.
She wanted to say that even if something did happen to Benedict, she could pull him back from the gates of the underworld. That was why she could guarantee something like that. It wasn't youthful reckless naivete like everyone else thought.
"Let's pack up and leave the hospital," Benedict said, smiling again.
After they left, Demi found that Benedict's new residence was the villa to the left of Felix's.
She couldn't help but marvel at how many villas Felix seemed to have.
…
That night, inside a private VIP room at a karaoke bar, a group of wealthy second-generation elites and scions had arrived early.
The moment Felix stepped in, everyone widened their eyes in shock.
They pointed incredulously at his leg and spoke. "Felix, your leg…"
"Yeah, it just healed. So I thought I'd gather everyone to celebrate," Felix said with a smile on his lips.
The people in the room instantly erupted in excitement.
"For real?"
"That's amazing!"
"Congratulations!"
"I knew Felix had a fortunate fate!"
"Felix, sit here! We saved the best seat for you!"
"This calls for a proper celebration! We're drinking till we drop tonight!"
The people in the room were buzzing and shouting with excitement.
One guy immediately ran to the door and yelled, "Waiter! Bring in another case of champagne and two bottles of red wine!"
Felix moved to sit at the center of the couch.
