A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 177

Demi reached out to take the phone from Sean's hand. She smiled and looked at the person on the video call.

"Hello, I'm Mr. West Senior's attending physician. Based on his current condition, I believe he can be discharged. As long as he avoids strenuous activities like mountain climbing or swimming, he can handle daily tasks just fine.

"There's no need to keep him in the hospital. In fact, doing that might even be detrimental to his recovery."

In the video, Wilson looked at Demi in surprise.

Although he had already heard from his father, Sean, and Seamus that the person who had saved Benedict twice was a 16-year-old girl, seeing her in person still shocked him. She was way too young and inexperienced.

"Dr. Moone, is it? Thank you for saving my father, but I still don't feel at ease letting him out. What if he faints somewhere and has to wait for an ambulance? It could delay critical treatment," Wilson said with a stern expression.

"I think that as a doctor, I know his condition better than you do. If I say he's fine, then he's fine," Demi retorted.

She glanced at Benedict, who was staring at her expectantly. She couldn't help but add, "I can guarantee this."

Wilson immediately frowned and questioned, "What are you guaranteeing, exactly? Dr. Moone, my father's life is far more valuable than you think. You can't just guarantee something like that lightly! If anything happens to him, ten of you wouldn't even be enough to make up for it!"

"Wilson!" Benedict couldn't hold back his reprimand. "You're speaking to my lifesaver. Watch your words!

"That's enough. Hang up the call. This is my decision. I want to be discharged! Even if anything happens to me, I won't blame anyone."

But Demi didn't end the call right away. Instead, she smiled and said, "Of course, I know how valuable Mr. West Senior's life is. But let me be clear, Mr. West—my life and status are more valuable than you imagine.

"Regardless, I stand by my word. Mr. West Senior will be fine!"

In the world of cultivation, ordinary people—even emperors—were no more than mortals in the eyes of cultivators. And, in the mortal world, cultivators were akin to celestial beings. Even emperors had to bow before them.
