Thomas was outside the house when he heard the commotion. So, he hurriedly dashed into the yard upon hearing it. When he entered the yard, he saw Alex being whacked like a mole.
Thomas was so shocked that he didn't know what else to do. So, he just stepped forward to stop them from hitting Alex.
Meanwhile, Demi couldn't hold herself back anymore. It didn't really matter to her. Although the Pitts didn't want her, she still had Margaret and Timothy to love her forever.
"Alright. That's enough, Grandma, Timmy. It's not worth hurting ourselves for this." She calmed Margaret down first before pulling Timothy back. However, he struggled to break free from her grip, wanting to keep on hitting Alex.
Demi looked at Thomas, who was standing at the door. Then, she looked at the miserable-looking Alex.
"Alex, Thomas, go back and tell your family that I'm not desperate without the Pitts. Tell them to stop getting me to go back like you're a benevolent bunch! This is where I belong. As for your home, I don't want it anymore. Get lost, and stop coming here! Otherwise, I'm still going to beat you up!"
She glared at them fiercely as she spoke, thinking she couldn't be gentle to people like them at all. Otherwise, they would get more arrogant and think she couldn't do anything to them.
Seeing how they weren't going to talk that day, Alex knew he was just asking for a beating by visiting Demi. After all, she was filled with hatred.
Margaret watched angrily as Alex left. Then, she turned around to look at Demi, and Margaret's eyes turned red immediately.
"Demi, did they really bully you like that? Did they really make you serve their family?" Margaret asked while holding Demi's hands.
She finally understood why Demi wouldn't want to talk about the Pitts at all. Instead, all Demi said was that it was all a misunderstanding and that she wasn't the Pitts' daughter.
It seemed to Margaret that Demi was heartbroken.
"It's all in the past now, Grandma. Let's just avoid talking to them in the future." Demi returned to her normal self. In fact, she looked a little happier than usual.
Meanwhile, Timothy was still holding the broom tightly with a long face. It seemed like he still hadn't calmed down yet.
Margaret looked at Matt and said nothing. Then, she grabbed the broom from Timothy and pulled him into the house to calm him down.
"Well, I'm sorry you had to witness that. Let us continue," Demi said apologetically with a smile after turning back to Matt.
"About you and Thomas…" He paused.
