A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 123

The staff said, "The porridge was meant for us. Since you ate it, we'll have to starve. So, you have to give us other food in return."

Sally asked, "What food do you want?"

"You'll have to give us three pounds of fish for one bowl of porridge," the staff member replied.

"Isn't that a blatant robbery? Besides, where do we get the fish for you? Didn't you take away our fishing materials? Have you forgotten about that? If you want crabs, mussels, or fruits, we can try our best to repay you. Aren't you putting us in a difficult situation by asking for fish?" Sally exclaimed.

"We prepared two small boats nearby. There are fishing materials in it. You can use them to fish and repay us for the food," the staff explained.

"What? That's great!" Sally was pleasantly surprised.

Indeed, the production team wouldn't refuse to help them.

"Alright." Nigel nodded. "Please give Thomas a bowl of porridge."

"Of course." While he spoke, the staff member passed Thomas some porridge.

"Thank you, everyone!" Immediately, the latter reacted like he had discovered some treasure.

He was so famished that he could eat a tree!

He eagerly held the bowl of porridge.

"Please eat it quickly," Wendy told him urgently.

Thomas hurriedly warmed the porridge up by the fire.

On the other hand, Nigel looked at the others. "Do you want to eat some as well?"

He didn't feel hungry because his stamina was good.

Yet, he was worried that the others would be hungry.

Since they could exchange the ingredients, he did so promptly. They could talk about paying it back later.

"I don't want it."

Both Sally and Connor shook their heads.

"Why don't the four of us share one bowl of porridge? We'll regain enough strength to work after that," Wendy suggested.

"Alright. Please give me another bowl of porridge." Nigel nodded and turned to the staff.
