Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 9

This was the first time Naomi had ever raised her voice at Zebulon.

The commotion caught the attention of the adults' table. The heads of the Hughes, Gonzalez, and several other families couldn't stay seated and started walking over.

“What's going on? What's happening?”

As today's hosts, Mr. Hughes was naturally the first to ask.

The others followed, chiming in, “Young people are always so lively. Even a meal gets noisy. It seems they're all very close.”

The wives agreed with their husbands. “Isn't that the truth? They've all grown up together. I'd say the bonds of this younger generation are stronger than ours. In the future, the kids from our neighborhood will probably run half of Tyra.”

“Hahaha...”

The adults laughed heartily, not taking the commotion too seriously.

So when they walked over and saw the tense, confrontational atmosphere between Naomi and the two young men, they were all a bit surprised.

Mr. Hughes was the first to speak again. “What is all this? Zebulon, what are you doing?”

After all, Naomi and Lennon were guests, so it was only natural for Mr. Hughes to question his own son first.

But Zebulon didn't even glance at his father. His eyes were fixed on Naomi, seeing her brows furrowed in what looked like disgust at his touch. A sense of panic stirred in Zebulon's heart, but it was quickly overshadowed by irritation.

He really couldn't understand what Naomi was so worked up about.

Even if they were fighting, Naomi shouldn't be using Lennon to provoke him!

She knew perfectly well how much everyone in their circle despised Lennon, the illegitimate son!
