"Huh?" Patricia didn't expect Naomi to catch on so quickly. She swallowed nervously and lowered her voice. "Actually... I made plans with Luther."

"And Luther is bringing that guy, Nelson."

"Nelson seems interested in you too, so I thought we could all hang out and have some fun together."

Naomi was speechless. "Wait, how could you just agree to something on my behalf?"

She had no interest in Nelson whatsoever.

After they parted ways that day, she hadn't given him a second thought and couldn't even remember what he looked like.

Seeing Naomi's displeasure, Patricia quickly started to wheedle. "I know I shouldn't have agreed for you, but I really wanted to see Luther. He happened to mention Nelson would be there, and I couldn't just have you hanging around alone, could I? Don't worry, if you feel uncomfortable at all, we'll head straight back to campus."

"I promise I won't get all love-struck and ditch you, okay?"

Naomi was truly at a loss with Patricia.

"If you want to date, you don't have to drag me into it. I'm really not interested."

Patricia gave Naomi a knowing look. "Are you really not interested in dating, or is it that the person you want to date isn't here? You know the truth in your own heart."

Naomi was completely confused. "What is that supposed to mean?"

Patricia laughed and bumped Naomi's shoulder playfully. "Oh, come on, don't play dumb with me. If Lennon were the one asking you to hang out, and have fun tonight, would you say no?"

Naomi's mind went blank for a second, wondering how the topic had suddenly jumped to Lennon.

But she instinctively retorted, "That's impossible. Lennon isn't the type to just 'hang out and have fun'."

Patricia laughed heartily. "See? You didn't deny the idea of going out with Lennon, you just said he wouldn't do it. Your subconscious is being pretty honest, isn't it? If he asked, you'd definitely go, right?"

Patricia huffed. "You're such a traitor to our friendship. Fine, if you agree to come with me, I'll let this slide. Otherwise, I'm going to be really upset and you won't be able to fix it."

Naomi looked at Patricia, and although she knew she was joking, she played along and nodded.
