"What's with that look?"
As soon as Patricia saw Naomi, she beckoned her over. Noticing Luther's sour expression out of the corner of her eye, she asked him directly.
To Patricia, Luther was a nobody now. Even though she had been briefly caught up in his flirty atmosphere, her stomach was killing her. She had no energy to care whether this guy liked her or not.
What good was a man? Unless he was a painkiller, he was useless.
"I..."
A wave of frustration washed over Luther, quickly turning into anger.
This was the final proof. It had to be Naomi. She must have said something to Patricia to make her so unpredictable.
"I was just surprised to see Naomi here."
Luther forced a smile and said softly, "I saw the forum post. I thought Naomi would be somewhere else."
"Where?"
Naomi and Patricia had come straight to the clinic and hadn't finished reading the forum thread, so they didn't know that "Z" had posted again.
Naomi pulled out her phone to check, and her expression grew strange.
"What did that person do now?"
Naomi put her phone away, exasperated. "He said he's waiting for me at Lover's Point."
"And now people in the comments are placing bets on whether I'll show up or not."
Patricia felt her stomach ache even more. "Seriously? Are these people insane?"
"Do you even know this guy? Why are there so many people trying to guilt-trip others these days?"
"And all those people on the forum, are their brains completely wired for romance? They don't even know you two, but they're already shipping you based on one post? If it's that easy for them to ship people, why don't they ship themselves with a cockroach?"
Naomi shook her head and gently tucked Patricia's blanket in. "Alright, don't get angry again. Just focus on your IV."
"How am I supposed to do that?"
Patricia was completely fed up. Noticing Luther was still there, she said politely, "Luther, I have someone to take care of me. It's not really convenient for a guy to be here, so you should probably head back."
