Lennon, that's a foul!
Naomi was starting to think Patricia might actually be onto something.
He was so distant and cold with everyone else, but whenever he was around her, it felt like he was trying to seduce her.
The thought flashed through her mind for only a second before she pushed it down.
This was Lennon Spencer. Why would he ever be interested in her?
Naomi figured she must have been infected by Patricia's recent romantic mood. Her friend was practically floating on air, and it was making Naomi a little hopeful about love herself.
But even if romance was in her future, it definitely wouldn't be with Lennon!
They might be neighbors, but they were from different worlds. They could never be together.
Realizing this brought a sudden pang of sadness.
She lowered her eyes, trying to keep her voice steady. "Did you need something?"
Lennon was silent for a moment before he spoke. "It's about what you said before, about helping Ronald."
He sounded a little annoyed as his voice deepened. "Did you forget?"
Naomi froze for a second, instinctively shaking her head before remembering he couldn't see her. "I didn't forget!" she said quickly.
Afraid he'd think she was just brushing him off, she added, "What's wrong? Is there a change of plans?"
"No."
Lennon's tone softened, as if he'd remembered something. "It's Ronald. He's really excited about us picking him up together, so he's been pestering me to ask you when you're free."
So that was it.
Naomi couldn't help but smile at the thought of an impatient Ron. She pulled up her class schedule and said softly, "How about this Friday? You should be out of the hospital by then, right?"
Lennon grunted in agreement.
