When Family Became a Place I Couldn’t Return To novel Chapter 324

“Of course,” Jonah answered, his tone respectful. “Vincent’s been taken care of. The people who backed him are all going to face consequences too.”

He set a list down in front of Felix.

Felix smiled, clearly pleased. Jonah always got things done quickly.

“How’s it going with Nelly?” Felix asked.

Jonah replied, “The launch went smoothly. She even landed a spot in the international expo.”

Felix nodded, not surprised at all.

Nancy’s tricks were nothing special. If Nelly couldn’t handle a minor mess like this, there was no way she’d be able to take over Christopher’s business.

Still, Nelly’s recent streak of good luck had a lot to do with Felix’s quiet support.

Other than Britney and Nicholas, plenty of people in the Watson family had their sights set on Nelly.

But with Felix openly supporting her, everyone else just kept their distance and watched.

After this launch, though, once Nelly officially took her seat at the Watson family’s business table, things were bound to change.

The calm was about to break.

When Jonah finished his report, Felix was ready to call it a night.

Jonah was just about to leave when Felix paused, thinking of something. “You got back pretty late tonight. Did you go see Nelly?”

Jonah made a small sound of agreement.

He had gone to Nelly’s place.

He hadn’t actually talked to her. He just watched from a distance as she got home, then left.

Felix looked at him, a little amused. “Looks like you lost this bet. Nelly isn’t like Nancy. She’s been hurt before. The one thing she can’t stand is betrayal.”

Honestly, Felix didn’t really care if Nelly wanted anything to do with Jonah or not.

It was just a pity. Nelly used to trust Jonah so much.

Just like Nancy had back then.
