Charlotte couldn’t believe how clueless they were.
“That’s all. Send me the results when you’re done.”
She hung up and turned to the airport manager, her eyes sharp. “I need a laptop.”
The manager frowned for a second. The surveillance cameras had been trashed, so what could she possibly do with a laptop?
“Did you not hear me?”
Anthony’s cold voice cut through the awkward silence. “Give her whatever she asks for.”
“Yes, Anthony.”
The way Anthony held her when they walked in and his whole attitude made it clear their relationship was something special.
The manager rushed to get a laptop, too nervous to ask questions.
“Anything else you need?” Anthony set the laptop on the table and slid it toward her, still not sure what she was about to do.
Charlotte flipped open the laptop and started it up without any emotion on her face, her eyes fixed on the screen. “Tell Lanny I’m hacking into the city’s traffic surveillance for ten minutes. Don’t let him freak out.”
“Just use my name.”
Lanny? Anthony blinked. If he remembered right, Lanny was the director of the city’s traffic bureau.
“Got it.”
He nodded and signaled Hans. “Make it happen.”
“Yes, Anthony.”
Everyone in the room was basically frozen.
Had they heard that right? Charlotte was about to hack into the whole city’s system?
“Lottie…”
Kenneth could barely sit still, looking like a bundle of nerves. His voice was rough with worry. “Just tell me—how long will it take to find Emily?”
He needed to brace himself.
