The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1466

Everything was falling apart.

This time, she’d really messed up.

“Do exactly what I say next.”

Charlotte glanced at the clock, already aware of how much trouble Emily was in. She couldn’t deal with the disaster at headquarters right now.

“Yes, Ms. Tracing.”

As soon as the call ended, the design director rushed to gather all the senior execs for an emergency meeting.

. . .

Somewhere else, right on the red carpet.

The ten minutes Kenneth had demanded were almost up. He and Emily still stood side by side, barely moving, perfectly calm in front of the flashing cameras.

Reporters and fans watched, totally confused.

“Kenneth, there’s only one minute left.” A reporter broke the tense silence, lifting her microphone. “Can you finally tell us what this proof is?”

Emily turned to Kenneth too, her palms clammy with nerves. She knew he’d contacted Charlotte, but had no idea if that would matter.

Kenneth shot the reporter a look, chin tilted, and his sharp features turned even colder. “Is your hearing faulty?”

The reporter was instantly shut down, lost for words. Kenneth’s interviews were infamous for this. Most reporters hated drawing the short straw with him.

Right then, Kenneth’s manager stepped back into the scene, giving him a subtle nod.

Kenneth’s serious face eased a little. He didn’t know exactly what Lottie would do, but he knew how capable she was. There was no way she’d let Emily take the blame.

Ten minutes shrank down to seconds. Sabina’s people sensed their moment slipping away and pushed reporters to stir things up again.

But with only ten seconds left, a staff member hurried over to the host and whispered urgently.

The host’s face changed. She gripped the mic a little tighter, announcing, “Everyone, we’ve just received breaking news. Jeva’s design director is aware of tonight’s situation—he wants to join us live.”
