The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1464

Sabina’s face kept shifting between pale and red, like she couldn’t decide if she was furious or terrified.

Kenneth didn’t waste another glance on her. Instead, he turned to his agent standing behind him. “Make the call. She knows exactly what to do.”

The agent nodded without hesitation, immediately pulling out his phone to contact Charlotte.

“Will this get Charlotte into trouble…?” Emily asked, her brow furrowed with worry.

“Nothing’s ever too much for her,” Kenneth said, lowering his head to meet Emily’s eyes. His voice was calm but reassuring. “Don’t worry.”

Just hearing that made Emily’s heart pound in her chest. Warmth spread all over her, as if she had been wrapped in a soft blanket. She nodded quickly, feeling a little lightheaded.

. . .

On the other side of the city, Charlotte and Anthony stood in front of a cluster of medical equipment, both dressed head to toe in anti-radiation suits.

“Lottie, here’s the data from G5,” Dr. David said, opening up a laptop and pointing at the screen. “There are a few numbers here we couldn’t figure out. So, we shipped the new drug to Cabinda, hoping you could check if anything’s wrong.”

Charlotte just gave a small nod, glancing down at the medicine on the table and the data glowing on the screen. Her tone was nonchalant. “It’s not a big deal.”

Not a big deal? Dr. David’s jaw tensed. Even with G5 and some of the world’s best medical scientists, they had spent days on this and still couldn’t crack it. Now Charlotte was brushing it off like it was nothing.

She gave her instructions, then reached for the medicine.

“Hold on,” Anthony spoke up just in time, his voice gentle but firm. “You need another layer of protection.”
