The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1323

The lounge was quiet. Charlotte sank into the sofa, exhaustion written all over her face, a light blanket pulled loosely over her shoulders.

“Why do you look so pale?” Anthony crouched down in front of her and took her cold hands in his, worry clear in his eyes. “Are you feeling sick?”

“Kind of,” Charlotte mumbled, pressing her lips together. She didn’t really want to talk about it.

“Is it your stomach?” Anthony’s voice tightened with concern and he looked ready to scoop her up. “Let’s go to the hospital.”

Charlotte quickly stopped him, her hand pressing down on his. She frowned a little. “It’s fine. I can handle it.”

She knew her own body best. The baby inside her was tougher than everyone thought.

Just then the lounge door opened. Newell walked in, looking pale, and headed straight for Charlotte.

“You might’ve strained yourself during the fight,” he said, voice serious. He handed her a small white pill. “Take this.”

He’d just sent someone to get the medicine from the pharmacy.

“This is made from the formula you gave us. It’s safe for the baby.”

Charlotte glanced at the pill and scrunched up her face. She really, really didn’t want to take it. The stuff was always so bitter.

Anthony poured her a glass of warm water, took the pill from Newell, and held it out to her, coaxing softly, “Take your medicine. When we get home, I’ll get you some cake.”
