Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 59

Rosalind single-handedly lifted her wooden chair, moved it to a different spot, and sat down, crossing her legs with a cool, striking elegance. "Where did this ugly man come from? So much nonsense."

Ugly... man?!

In an instant, the atmosphere in the room froze.

Zachary's expression was priceless, his mouth trembling in disbelief. "What did you say?"

"Ugly man," Rosalind repeated with a casual smile. "Did you hear me clearly? If not, you should get your ears checked."

"You!" Zachary's chest heaved, he was furious.

Nearly everyone's expression had changed.

Especially Yolanda's. She clenched her hands, her brow furrowed.

What was going on?

Wasn't she head-over-heels for Zachary? She had personally witnessed this woman acting so pathetically for Zachary that she would have given up her own life.

But now...

Yolanda took a deep breath.

Over there, Zachary looked like a clown who couldn't get off the stage. "Rosalind, have you forgotten how you used to beg me to just look at you?"

"Is a woman in love ever rational?" Rosalind's gaze was light. "Besides, we both know what the truth is."

Someone in the crowd couldn't take it anymore and shouted, "It was you who was obsessed with Mr. Woods! Stop making up stories!"

When Zachary heard Rosalind mention "the truth," his face went pale. Fearing she might actually reveal something, he feigned a magnanimous air. "Forget it. Life must be hard for her after leaving the Yates family. For old times' sake, I won't hold it against her."

With that, he turned and walked back to his seat without another glance at Rosalind.

Rosalind chewed on her candy, her tone light. "They're just a couple of petty profiteers. What's there to be afraid of?"

"Petty profiteers?! Do you have any idea who they are in the medical world... Wait a minute! Why does that sound so familiar?" Theodore scratched his head. He felt like he had heard that exact phrase somewhere before.

Rosalind reached out and patted his messy hair. Hmm... his hair felt nice. "If you can't remember, don't force it. You and Boris just get ready."

"Ready for what?" Boris was still in a daze. The gossip today had been coming one after another, and he hadn't even processed it all.

Rosalind picked up her black bag and rose from the chair. The beauty mark at the corner of her eye caught the light, giving her a look that was both cold and bewitching. "To dominate the floor and take first place."

"Wha-?" Boris was baffled.

Theodore was about to say something more.

Just then, from the floor above, a deep, resonant laugh echoed through the hall...
