Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 187

Lucien, however, reacted differently. With a military background and not yet forty, he had been sent to Sol by his family to gain experience.

He never expected to run into trouble in such a small place, but he wasn’t flustered. In fact, he saw it as an opportunity to understand Sol’s inner workings, so he remained silent the entire time.

His composure came from the confidence his status afforded him.

What surprised him was that the young woman standing next to him was just as unfazed, as if nothing that was happening could affect her.

“I’ll go with you.”

Rosalind was even smiling, her beautiful face carrying a hint of wickedness.

“Bring her along too.”

She tilted her chin towards the older woman who was trying to slip away…

The officers exchanged glances, thinking to themselves that their orders hadn’t mentioned arresting an old woman.

Rosalind popped a hard candy into her mouth, her hair framing her face. “What? Do you enforce the law selectively? My hundred thousand viewers are all watching, you know.”

That was a lie. The stream had been turned off earlier, and her viewers had no idea what was happening now.

But it was also an effective deterrent.

It reminded the officers that they were being watched and couldn’t be too blatant. They had to maintain at least a semblance of due process.

And so, the leader waved his hand. “Take them all away!”

The troublemaking woman was stunned. This wasn't what they had agreed on! No one said she would be taken to the police station too!

“Officer, if you’d just look closely, we’re…” We’re on the same side!

But at this point, who cared about her? Everyone was trying to appear impartial.

They were all loaded into the vehicle.

Grandma Megan was the most anxious, clinging to Rosalind’s hand, unwilling to let go.
