"You're a bunch of washouts yourselves, and you're forming a team?"
The person who interrupted Rosalind was the late-arriving George. His arm, still weak from their last encounter, was all thanks to the wretched girl in front of him.
George sneered at Rosalind. "The Lopez family is a joke, letting just anyone into the symposium."
Theodore was unfazed. "What's it to you?"
George ignored him and turned to Timothy. "Timothy, don't say I didn't warn you. Stop messing around with these losers. Take a good look at who she is."
Timothy, who had never liked George's arrogant attitude, retorted, "I don't care who she is. I don't judge my friends based on their background."
"That's why you're an idiot. It's one thing not to know your herbs, but you don't even recognize your own former cousin-in-law," George said, pointing at Rosalind. "She is the fake heiress who was kicked out of the Yates family."
What?!
Timothy froze.
Even Theodore's head shot up. His grandfather had never mentioned this part of the story!
At that moment, all eyes in the room turned towards them.
Among them was Zachary, who had been engaged to Rosalind. He had been watching Yolanda the whole time and hadn't noticed who was over there. But when he saw Rosalind's face, his hand, resting on his leg, clenched into a tight fist.
What was that obsessed girl doing here?
Who let her in?
Rosalind herself remained perfectly composed, her hand still propping up her chin in that same lazy posture.
The hall buzzed with gossip, everyone pointing and whispering about her.
"No wonder she's representing Veritas Medical. So she's that fake heiress."
"I'd never heard about an engagement between the two families, though."
