Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 56

Rachel let out a small gasp.

Grace, however, gave a cold smile. "Where else could she have gotten it? I had it sent to her."

"You did?" Yolanda was confused.

Grace's head was throbbing. "The Gonzalez Group received three invitations. I intended to have someone deliver a fake one, but they must have mixed them up and sent a real one instead."

"Well, that wretched girl certainly lucked out!" Rachel grumbled. "Mrs. Gonzalez, you should have just given it to me."

Grace's patience wore thin. "Bringing you in with me is the same thing!"

With that, she walked up to the security guard and proudly presented her invitation.

The guard inspected it and stepped aside to let her pass.

Grace finally felt like she had regained some of her dignity.

But soon enough, her mood plummeted again.

Rachel's cry echoed from behind: "Mrs. Gonzalez, Mrs. Gonzalez! They won't let me in!"

Grace turned to face the guard who was blocking Rachel. "What's the problem?"

"Ma'am, the invitation specifies that each doctor may only bring one assistant," the guard stated calmly. "You may choose one of them."

Grace's composure started to crack. "Choose one? How am I supposed to choose one?" This was beyond humiliating!

Yolanda, ever perceptive, said, "Ma'am, why don't you take my mother in? I can wait for you out here."

"I... uh..." Rachel's face turned red. She did want to go in, but... "Yolanda, don't be silly. You have to go inside so Mr. Turner can see you and fall for you."

Others couldn't hear her words.

But the two guards had excellent hearing and exchanged a look.

What was she talking about?

Their young master... falling for who?

The guards' eyes darted back and forth, their expressions priceless.

Their expressions were unreadable, but the subtle exclusion in their eyes was just as real as the blatant hostility outside.

No one approached her to speak. Even the doctors from less-established families quietly moved further away from her.

It was a stark contrast to Grace, who commanded attention the moment she entered. Nearly half the room was trying to engage her in conversation. "Dr. Gonzalez has arrived."

"Indeed," Grace replied, smiling elegantly as she worked the room.

This was her domain. What happened outside was nothing.

Grace proudly led Yolanda forward, walking past Rosalind as if she didn't even exist.

It was clear Rosalind was not welcome among her peers; people were deliberately ignoring her.

Rosalind didn't care. Chewing on a piece of candy, she smirked and found a place to sit. Just as she was about to take her seat...

Suddenly, an urgent voice buzzed by her ear.

"You must be the one I'm looking for!"
