“Not necessarily.” Rosalind leaned against the wall, one long leg bent, and let out a lazy yawn. “The cause is unknown, the diagnosis is unclear, and besides…”
Warner smiled faintly, finishing her sentence, “And besides, you’re tired and don’t feel like seeing another patient today.”
“It’s so much easier talking to smart people,” Rosalind said, looking at him with a half-smile returning to her eyes. Her fingertips landed on his wrist again, carefully checking his pulse. “Your condition can’t be rushed.”
This was a man that even the Grim Reaper was reluctant to take.
That’s why he had been allowed to live until now.
He must have an excellent disposition, trusting in himself more than in any gods.
Although he wore a bracelet on his wrist, as if seeking protection, it likely just contained some calming herbs to help him sleep.
Rosalind was close enough to smell it.
“First, improve your sleep and diet.” Rosalind was so tired she rubbed her own neck with one hand. “Eating well and sleeping well will help your condition.”
Warner looked at her sleepy eyes and said softly, “Alright.”
His voice was very close. By the time Rosalind noticed, he had already taken her bag from her hand.
“David, escort her home,” Warner’s voice was quiet but carried an undeniable authority.
David knew that if he pushed any further, his young master would be displeased. He bowed his head and said, “Yes, sir.”
“That’s not necessary. The place I’m going is right across from the hospital.” Rosalind didn’t want to get too involved with anyone. They were all just patients. “Mr. Lee can just walk me over.”
“Yes! I can take her!” Mr. Lee shouted. “I’ll do it, don’t you worry!”
Warner hummed in agreement and said nothing more.
David couldn’t help but suggest, “Sir, shouldn’t you get her contact information?”
Only then did Warner look toward Rosalind again.
