As her words fell, the surroundings went silent.
Warner stared at her, his deep eyes reflecting the shimmering lights, looking noble and detached.
The doctors didn’t know Warner’s identity, but as medical professionals, they knew one thing for certain.
When a doctor checks your pulse and frowns, it's never good news.
Just moments ago, Rosalind had a smile on her face. Now, her expression was placid, her gaze focused. She didn’t look like she was joking at all.
Could what she said be true? Was this man not long for this world?
His face was a bit pale, yes, but it couldn't be that serious, could it?
The doctors all turned their gazes toward him.
The president and vice president exchanged a look and quickly waved for them all to leave.
Mr. Lee’s heart skipped a beat, and he instinctively moved to pull Rosalind away.
Mr. Turner’s health was a constant source of anxiety for the entire Turner family.
The only reason he was in a small place like Sol was because of a rumor that ‘the Asclepian’ had once made an appearance here.
Just a single rumor was enough to bring the entire Turner family to Sol, which showed just how critical Mr. Turner’s condition was.
She had just hit the sorest spot imaginable.
And the Turner family bodyguard was right there.
Sure enough, David erupted in fury!
“What nonsense are you spouting!”
With his massive frame, he looked like he could lift Rosalind off the ground as he stepped toward her!
Warner raised a hand to block him, coughing softly, his tone light. “David.”
His voice carried a warning.
David clenched his fists. “She’s cursing you, sir.”
He knew?
Everyone was stunned. To know you don’t have long to live and still be so calm and composed?
“You chose me because you could see my illness, didn’t you?” Warner was skilled at reading people and easily guessed her initial plan.
Rosalind didn’t hide it, nodding. “Your illness is in your bones, not on the surface. It seems congenital, yet also something else. It’s the first time I’ve encountered a case like this, so I wanted to observe it more before making a diagnosis.”
At her words, David’s hand relaxed. He looked at the young woman before him in disbelief.
She had guessed it all correctly. Mr. Warner Turner’s illness was indeed congenital!
The condition was incredibly complex and a secret within the Turner family. No outsider should have known!
David stepped forward excitedly. “Miss…”
“David,” Warner said his name again, his low voice now tinged with coldness. “Do not be rude.”
Risking punishment, David pressed on. “Sir, she can surely treat you!”
