Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 30

“That man?” Rosalind picked up on the key part of his question. “Isn’t he the young master of the Martinez family?”

Mr. Lee wouldn’t dare reveal Mr. Turner’s identity, so he stammered, “You could say that. He’s a distant relative. His last name isn’t Martinez.”

Rosalind popped a fruit candy into her mouth, a faint smile on her lips. “And here I thought you were going to insist that the old man in there isn’t a Martinez either.”

“I consider you one of us now.” Mr. Lee was a smooth talker. “Besides, you are a person of outstanding character, so I have nothing to worry about. My boss is indeed from the Martinez family, the richest in Prax.”

Rosalind pressed the candy with her tongue. “Mm-hm.”

So unconcerned? Mr. Lee chuckled. “You don’t even bat an eye at hearing that. I see now I was worrying for nothing. Please accept my apologies.”

“An employee should protect their boss' privacy. You did the right thing.” Rosalind stopped walking and looked toward a nearby alley. “You can drop me off here. I’ll be there on time tomorrow.”

“Aren’t you going to ask why the Martinez family is in Sol?” Mr. Lee didn’t leave.

Rosalind chuckled lightly. “That’s not something for a doctor like me to inquire about.”

Hearing this, Mr. Lee’s admiration for the young woman grew. It wasn’t just for her medical skills, but for her principles as well.

“If you don’t mind my forwardness, I, Fabian, would like to consider you a sworn sister!” Mr. Lee was a straightforward man, not even considering their age difference. “If you ever come to Prax in the future, I, Fabian, will have your back!”

Rosalind did indeed have plans to return to Prax.

It was only a matter of time.

After all, that was where the Cadogan Practice had its roots.

She didn’t refuse Mr. Lee’s enthusiastic offer.

Rosalind liked working with people like him—not sycophantic or cowardly, but with good business sense.

Hearing this, Rosalind smiled slowly. “Don’t worry, Fabian. So far, there hasn’t been an illness I can’t cure.”

Fabian’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. “You… you mean you can actually cure him?!”

“Of course,” Rosalind said calmly. “It will just take some time. Fabian, have you ever heard the old folk saying?”

Fabian was curious. “What is it?”

However, Rosalind didn’t tell him. She just smiled, a light, ethereal expression. “Extreme nobility invites an early death. That man’s fate is too powerful for his body to bear, which is why his constitution is so weak and he’s been sick for so long. And treating this kind of illness is my specialty.”

“Rosalind, what you’re saying… it doesn’t sound like medicine anymore. It sounds more like something a fortune-teller on the street would say,” Fabian muttered, not daring to speak too loudly.

But the smile in Rosalind’s eyes deepened, the corners seeming to be tinged with rouge, both beautiful and bewitching. “Maybe I really can tell fortunes…”
