Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 18

“Miss! Ms. Martinez! I’ve finally found you!”

Mr. Lee spoke with a distinct Prax accent, his excitement making his beer belly jiggle.

Rosalind turned to look at him. He wore a fine suit, and though he wasn’t tall, he exuded a powerful business aura.

She didn't recognize him from her circle of acquaintances.

Rosalind picked up her bag, her expression neutral. “You have the wrong person.”

“The wrong person…” Mr. Lee repeated her words, his face falling. He had seen the young woman’s striking looks and refined demeanor and had assumed she was the Ms. Martinez he was supposed to find.

Now he felt like he was just grasping at straws.

The information from Oakhelm never mentioned that Ms. Martinez knew medicine.

If this young woman was truly Ms. Martinez, with such exquisite medical skills, the Yates family would surely have mentioned it.

He had just been momentarily confused because her silhouette looked so similar.

Seeing that the misunderstanding was cleared up, Rosalind turned to leave.

Mr. Lee stopped her again. “Wait, young lady, could you please come with me to the hospital?”

Rosalind’s eyes were deep as she gestured for him to continue.

Wiping sweat from his brow, Mr. Lee avoided mentioning the Martinez family and offered a more generic explanation. “It’s like this: my boss went on a trip to the countryside and suddenly came down with a fever. He’s been burning up for a whole day now. We’ve tried antibiotics and an IV drip at the hospital, but his temperature won’t go down. I was hoping you could come take a look.”

“If he’s already at the hospital, you have nothing to worry about. The professional doctors there will ensure he gets better,” Rosalind said, initially declining.

Her grandmother still didn't know that the Yates family had kicked her out.

Rosalind planned to visit the apothecary after her clinic.

Mr. Lee quickly led her to the roadside, bowing slightly. “This way, please!”

It was a luxury van worth over three million, understated and elegant.

Rosalind was sharp. Recalling the case file her associate had sent her, she had a guess. She raised a lazy eyebrow. “Is the patient’s surname Martinez?”

Mr. Lee, who was about to get in the car, nearly slipped!

“I… uh…” Mr. Lee began to sweat profusely in his panic. “How did you know? I didn’t say anything.”

Rosalind rested her chin on her hand and popped a piece of candy into her mouth, her eyes curving into a smile. “Relax, Mr. Lee. It was just a wild guess. I just think Martinez is a powerful-sounding name.”

“A… a wild guess.” Mr. Lee breathed a sigh of relief. “It is a powerful name, isn’t it? Hahaha.”

That made sense. How could she possibly know about the Martinez family of Prax? She seemed to live a simple life, just treating the elderly in her community. She wouldn’t have any contact with the circles of Prax…
