“Yes, Mr. Yates. They’re specifically asking to see the fake daughter, wanting to know where she is now,” said the butler, the same one who had driven Rosalind out on the first day.
Sean thought of the beat-up scooter from earlier, his eyes filled with disgust. “No wonder she refused the money. She thought it was too little and now wants to leech off our family!”
“That family is truly shameless!” the butler spat. “I’ll go send them away right now. I know exactly how to deal with pests like them!”
Sean was more calculating. “Don’t make it too ugly. The Yates family has a reputation to maintain.”
The butler replied, “Don’t worry, sir. I understand.”
Sean hung up and went back to making toasts. Soon, Yolanda would be taken under the wing of the Gonzalez family. With their prestige in the medical world, they would surely gain access to the Turner family, paving a smooth path for his own political career.
At such a critical moment, how could he possibly have time to deal with Rosalind’s bunch of poor relatives? It was laughable!
Sean’s failure to personally see Mr. Lee that day would become the biggest regret of his life!
That evening, in AMO Community.
Rosalind had already started her free clinic. A long line of people was waiting to see her, and she barely had a moment to sip some water.
Her phone had been buzzing incessantly for a while.
When Rosalind finally checked it, she found a mountain of messages.
[Boss, why did you reject the Turner family’s request?]
[Boss, I told them you were coming.]
[Boss, did something happen?]
[Boss…]
Seeing his endless stream of messages, Rosalind freed a hand to reply: “I went. The security guard wouldn’t let me in.”
“Why would you need surgery for such a minor issue?” Rosalind chuckled. “Hold out your arm, please.”
The old man complied, though his expression was still skeptical.
Rosalind held his arm, pressed a specific point with her fingertips, and then lifted it with a firm motion.
Crack!
Before the old man could react, Rosalind smiled. “Try it now.”
“It’s better! It’s really better!” The old man swung his arm in disbelief. “I can lift it!”
The community residents were already accustomed to Rosalind’s miraculous skills.
The old man, however, had tears in his eyes. He grasped Rosalind’s hand tightly. “Doctor, thank you! I went to so many hospitals, and even Dr. Gonzalez said my arm needed surgery to be fixed. I’m from a small place, and my family just doesn’t have the money. I was about to give up, but then I met you today! You’re a saint sent from heaven!”
