Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 105

Megan smiled and replied, “Okay, thank you. I understand.”

In times like these, help was a kindness, not an obligation.

Megan understood social graces.

The person from the Zade family advised, “Maybe it’s better not to open it. Mrs. Yates, let me give you some advice. Your clinic really can’t succeed. If you’re short on food or clothes, us old-timers can still help you out secretly.”

His use of the word “secretly” revealed just how difficult the situation was.

Five thousand dollars was nothing to families like theirs.

It was probably less than what Rachel spent on a single dinner, but she refused to give it, and she forbade others from giving it too.

Rosalind’s gaze darkened, her fingers tapping a restless rhythm on the table.

She seemed casual, yet she was cloaked in a dark aura. Only her eyes shone, glinting with a hidden danger.

Galeno’s eyes were already turning red. He braced his hands on the table, about to stand. The Cooper family must have a death wish.

Rosalind reached out and casually pressed him back down. “Eat.”

Galeno’s young, determined face was expressionless as he gestured wildly with his hands.

Rosalind put down her utensils and wiped her mouth with a napkin. “Don’t worry. We’ll get our revenge.”

Galeno’s face lit up instantly, and he waved his hands with excitement.

Rosalind was only showing her grandmother her spending money, knowing a larger sum would frighten her. She lowered her voice. “That friend of mine introduced me to a wealthy patient. This is the medical fee they paid. And I earned a lot from the visit to the Turner family yesterday.”

Megan found it incredible. “Can consultation fees be this high?”

“The Turners are a prominent family. Paying any less would be an embarrassment for them,” Rosalind said, spinning a story to make her grandmother believe her. “And it wasn’t just the consultation fee. Galeno and I also resold some medicinal herbs.”

Galeno, having been mentioned, immediately nodded in confirmation.

Grandma Megan was both overjoyed and astounded. Seeing the balance on the screen and knowing the money was obtained legitimately, she couldn’t stop the smile from spreading across her face. “One million dollars! It’s really one million dollars!”

“Yes, Grandma, one million. We don’t have to worry about school fees or money to open the clinic,” Rosalind said with a gentle smile. “You should spend it where you need to. Once Veritas Medical is up and running, we’ll have even more money than this.”

Listening to her dear granddaughter, Grandma Megan suddenly felt full of hope for the future. “Even more than a million?”
