Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 823

This wasn't the first time Benjamin had called, practically begging to join Maeve's smart-tech development project. She had ignored every single attempt.

He had assumed she just wanted to keep all the profits for herself and the White family. It wasn't until he heard that Slade Thorne from Port Caspian and Mason Reed from Gotham were meeting with Andres that he realized he was the only one being intentionally excluded.

Maeve knew he was going to confront her about it. Andres had actually asked her beforehand if they should invite Benjamin to the summit. Knowing Benjamin was a volatile wildcard, Maeve had shot the idea down immediately. She hadn't expected him to be so fiercely persistent about this investment.

"Who made the rule that I have to include you when I look for partners?" Maeve shot back.

Benjamin looked deeply aggrieved. "I thought you wouldn't cut me out, out of respect for Charlie."

Maeve opened her mouth to argue, but Benjamin cut her off.

"I've started remembering things. Things that might be connected to Charlie's death."

That instantly grabbed Maeve's attention. "Your memories are back?"

Benjamin's expression grew heavy. "The missing chunks are still a blur, but random, strange scenes keep flashing into my mind. I remember seeing Charlie in this place—I can't even describe it. He looked like he was on a mission to do something. I called out to him, but he ignored me. He just told me to stay out of it. When I tried to follow him, someone ambushed me from behind. By the time I woke up, I was told Charlie was dead. I've been piecing these fragments together one by one. It's so chaotic that I don't even know if these memories are real or if my brain is just making them up."

Maeve suddenly asked, "Have you done any business with Grover Group over the years?"

Benjamin frowned. "Barton Grover?"
