"Rejecting me so fast? Am I not good enough for you?" Benjamin taunted.
Nancy ripped her arm away forcefully. "I'm already in love with someone else."
Benjamin used his brute strength, refusing to let go. "Which suicidal bastard dares to touch a woman I've got my eye on?"
In her panic, Nancy blurted out Andres's name. "Everyone in Aethelburg knows Andres White is my destiny."
Benjamin threw his head back and laughed like it was the funniest thing he had ever heard. "Are you out of your mind? Andres already has a woman. What, you want to be a homewrecker?"
He deliberately raised his voice on the last word.
Heads turned across the entire dining room. Diners stopped eating to stare at the spectacle. Even then, no one dared to intervene. The man causing the scene was Aethelburg's most notorious tyrant. Anyone who dared to cross him would be chewed up and spit out.
Nancy realized he was doing this purely to humiliate her. "Are you really willing to make an enemy of the Grover family just to defend Maeve Vance?"
Benjamin feigned ignorance. "Baby, you're talking crazy. Your man has no idea what you mean."
Nancy gritted her teeth in pure fury. "Keep spouting garbage and I'll have my lawyers contact you."
Benjamin smiled, an incredibly sleazy look on his face. "Lawyers? Come on, we're much closer than that."
Nancy opened her mouth to snap back, but Benjamin pressed a finger to her lips, silencing her.
"Alright, alright, this isn't the place. It's unfair of me to talk to you like this in front of all these people."
