A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 50

Sanders felt extremely wronged. No one in his shoes would be able to run up the mountain just to follow someone.

Demi was either super strong or super fast.

No, that wasn't right. She was both super strong and fast.

As Demi's cameraman, he had watched firsthand how Demi had tied her things to the sides of her shoulders. She had even chosen heavy items like drinks to carry.

At first, he had assumed that Demi had overestimated her own strength. He had believed she would come to regret her decisions after taking a few steps.

However, it seemed like he had been the one to underestimate her instead.

"Quickly follow after her," Matt said.

"I can't, Mr. Hahn. I can't walk anymore. I had tried to keep up with her for a bit, but I'm so exhausted that I can't even move now," Sanders replied.

He was still gasping for air as he slumped to the ground, refusing to get up.

Matt was left at a loss for words. Fine, maybe he had been asking for too much.

After resting for about 20 minutes, Sanders managed to regain some energy. Just as he was debating if he should look for Demi, she appeared in his frame once again.

Demi was still running as she made her way down. She was moving with agility, just like a quick fox.

"M-Ms. Demi, have you a-already sent everything up the mountain?" Sanders stammered.

"That's right. Now, let's go meet up with Ms. Dane." Her voice was cheerful, and there was a faint smile on her calm expression. Not to mention, not a single bead of sweat was in sight.

They had barely taken a few steps when they ran into Maria.

Maria's eyes widened in surprise. "Where's your load?"

Ahead of her, Nigel, Wendy, and Ana, who was behind her, looked equally astonished.

Of course, Ana's expression seemed much more complicated than the others.

If she had not been there herself, she would have assumed that the production team was faking it and that Demi's boxes were empty.

Meanwhile, George, Thomas, and Chad, who were walking even further ahead, had already recovered from their earlier shock.

"I've already delivered them up the mountain," Demi said as she casually reached for the basket on Maria's back.

"Demi, it's fine. I can carry it," Maria said shyly, refusing Demi instinctively.

However, Demi was quick to take the basket off Demi's back in one swift move.

Demi immediately felt as if a heavy mountain had been lifted off of her shoulders.

"Oh, my God! She's incredible!"

"I'm beginning to suspect that the production team is faking this. The boxes they've chosen must be empty!"

"Seriously? Would the production team stoop so low just to make Demi famous?"
