"Mr. Fuller, what's the matter?" the voice on the other end of the phone greeted warmly.
"Is Erika at school this afternoon?" Charles' expression was cold, and his voice had a serious edge to it.
"It looks like she didn't go to the cafeteria. She went out for lunch instead. I checked earlier, and she's not at her desk yet, so she probably hasn't come back. Is something wrong, Mr. Fuller?" the person asked.
"Alright, I got it. I'll contact you later," Charles said with a nod.
He hung up and then called out to the teacher who had just entered the classroom, "I need to step out for a bit to attend to some matters."
With that, he quickly rushed out of the classroom and headed straight for the school gate to meet Felix.
A familiar car pulled up to the school gate shortly after, and Felix and Demi got out.
"Felix, Demi, what happened?" Charles hurried over to them.
"How dare you ask me that?" Felix frowned at Charles.
Charles immediately shrank back a little. There was nothing he could do—Felix's presence was just too intimidating.
"Did you remove the cast from your leg?" Demi noticed that Charles was standing.
At her words, Charles' expression lit up, and he stomped his foot excitedly as he said, "Yeah! The doctor said my recovery is off the charts. I didn't even tell him I took those pills you gave me. It looks like your pills really work!"
"That's great. This afternoon, Erika invited me to meet her at a billiards club. She originally meant to cause trouble for me, but I handled it. Everything's fine now," Demi said, smiling.
"What? I knew it was Erika! Damn it!" Charles cursed in frustration.
These people disrespected him by picking on Demi, and it infuriated him. What upset him even more was the embarrassment he felt in front of Felix.
"Where are they? I'm going to find them right now!" Charles was livid.
Demi smiled. "No need. I've already taken them to the police station."
Then, she turned to Felix and added with gratitude, "Mr. Harrington, thank you for handling that. I need to go to class now, and you should get back to your work."
