A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 392

However, as the staff was well aware of the tensions between Ana and Demi, there was no way they would actually ask Demi to summon a lion for Ana. The Pitts weren't that big of a deal.

"If Ms. Pitt is still uncomfortable, maybe we should pause the shoot. Everyone understands," a staff member suggested, trying to diffuse the situation.

Immediately, Ana's eyes welled up with tears again. She couldn't hold it in anymore—she felt so wronged.

"Did anyone notice how Ana has been crying non-stop since she joined the show?"

"Isn't she just being bullied by someone?"

"Not getting a lion summoned for her is bullying? By that logic, if the world's richest person doesn't share their wealth with me, is that bullying too?"

"People helping her is a kindness, not an obligation. Why cry about it?"

Wendy and Caitlin saw this and were also uncomfortable. Their ankles were no longer hurting, so they could've let Ana ride the lion instead. Still, since Demi summoned the lion and had a complicated relationship with Ana, they didn't feel right offering Ana their lion.

Daniel spoke up just then. "Ms. Yurs, how's your ankle? Do you mind getting off and letting Ana ride for a bit if you're feeling better?"

Daniel avoided asking Wendy to give up her ride because taking it from a senior could lead to negative comments from viewers.

Caitlin smiled, but there was hesitation in her gaze. She was afraid that if she agreed, she'd be causing trouble for Demi, who might face backlash from the online community. If she refused, she'd probably get criticized by the same people.

"If your foot is better and you're not too tired, you can let me have a turn with the lion. I'm getting a little tired from walking," Demi said casually.

"What?" Caitlin blinked like she was snapping out of a dream. After hesitating, she made her decision. "Sorry, my ankle still hurts. I don't think I can walk. Maybe… I should pause the shoot for now?"

Caitlin said that to protect Demi from being cyberbullied.

If Demi rode the lion without an injury, some people would still find a way to criticize her, even though she was the one who summoned it. But if Caitlin insisted she was still hurt, others couldn't guilt-trip her into feeling bad.

"Ana, if you don't want to pull out from the show, maybe you should have your brothers carry you for a while. Lucky you, you have two brothers to help out," Nigel suggested.

"Alright, Thomas and I will carry her," Daniel replied. His expression was slightly tense, though he had no other choice.

So, Daniel and Thomas took turns carrying Ana.

Despite being young, they were used to a life of luxury and had trouble keeping up with the rough terrain. They moved slowly and clumsily, almost tripping several times and slowing the entire group down.
