A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 390

"Wait, what?" The group stared in shock, some so surprised that they couldn't control their expressions.

"Who's its lackey? Is it another tiger?" George asked, curious.

"I'm not sure. We'll find out when it gets here. Let's wait here," Demi replied, shaking her head.

As she spoke, the tiger suddenly dashed off and disappeared from sight.

"Is it going to call its lackey itself?" the group wondered aloud.

"It's probably finding a place to call its lackey. If it roars here, it might hurt us," Demi explained.

The tiger's roar could shake the forest, sending birds scattering. Sometimes, it was powerful enough to rupture the insides of small animals, showing just how strong a tiger's roar could be.

Just as Demi was explaining, a long, deep roar echoed from somewhere nearby.

Everyone froze, feeling a chill run down their spines, their hair standing on end.

"It's kind of scary," someone muttered, rubbing their arms.

A moment later, George spoke up in worry, "What if it escapes?"

He was still hoping to spend the night at the tiger's den.

"It won't dare," Demi said confidently.

The audience laughed at her confidence.

"It won't dare, haha! Demi's so powerful!"

"But then why did it refuse to carry anyone just now?"

"The tiger has pride; maybe it was just being stubborn."

Not long after, the tiger returned, dashing back to the group.

"It's so obedient? Why did it refuse you earlier?" the group asked, still curious.

"Because I was negotiating with it earlier. It can refuse if it wants to. I wasn't going to force it." Demi smiled.

"Why not ask it to call a few more over? Maybe we can ride one?" Vivian asked eagerly.

"I'm not negotiating with it again. I'm afraid it might lose its temper. I can't just fight it," Demi said as she laughed, shaking her head.

Of course, she was joking, but the group took her seriously.
