A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 366

Stephen dragged his exhausted body through the Pitt residence's entrance at night.

Michelle immediately rose from the couch, her practiced smile in place. "You're home. Where's Daniel?"

She hurried over, taking his briefcase and helping him remove his coat with practiced efficiency.

"He's staying late to deal with the mess at the office," Stephen snapped in irritation.

"Have you eaten? Should I ask Abigail to prepare something?" Michelle quickly changed the subject.

"With the company in complete chaos, how could I possibly think about food?" Stephen retorted.

Michelle fell silent. These days, no matter what she said or did, it seemed to make Stephen annoyed.

Not daring to say more, she immediately called for Abigail to prepare a meal.

"Is Harold home?" Stephen asked coldly as he sank onto the couch.

"Yes. He's upstairs in his room," Michelle replied as she quickly poured him a glass of water.

As a wealthy socialite in her own right, Michelle shouldn't have needed to tiptoe around Stephen like this. However, since this disaster was undeniably her fault, she had no choice but to keep her head down for now.

"Call him down," Stephen ordered icily.

Michelle immediately made the call.

Moments later, a dispirited Harold trudged downstairs.

"The next episode of the show is coming up soon. Figure out how to apologize to Demi. We need her to publicly admit that she's our biological daughter as soon as possible, or the company will collapse."

Harold's jaw tightened with resistance, but he swallowed his objections. "I understand."

"If you dare pick another fight with Demi and ruin this, don't bother coming back to the Pitt family. I mean it," Stephen warned.

Harold frowned and protested, "Dad, this isn't just my fault! The whole family messed up. Why am I the only one being targeted?"
